Former Police Recruits Reunite After 42 Years

  • PDF

Bandar Seri Begawan - The memories of the yesteryears have long remained with them since serving as brothers in the police force.

Some 40 former police recruits TB 19/70 were trained at Jalan Gurney, Kuala Lumpur in May 1970. When they returned to Brunei, the recruits were attached to different branches in the force.

After 42 years, they reunited during a gathering at Senja Rasa Restaurant in Jalan Tutong.

One of the recruits and sponsors for the event expressed his joy after meeting them after all these years. The event served as a platform to reconnect old ties between former associates while showing respect for the five who had passed away with the recitation of Surah al-Fatihah.

Hj Abd Rahman bin Safar, a retired officer at the Civil Aviation Department, said that reminiscing on the old days was indeed a unique experience, while another retiree, Hj Nokman bin Hj Damit, who once worked under the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the friendships built during their training and stated that it should be maintained amongst them.
