Bandar Seri Begawan - Heavy and continuous downpour that lasted for three hours caused flash floods in some parts of the country where houses, shops and roads were affected.

Among those badly affected were several houses in Kg Batu Ampar, Mukim Pengkalan Batu. According to one of the residents, Dyg Fatimah bte Mudim, such a phenomenon is not new and it has become a routine to remove debris and clear the mess as well as to save the furniture whenever there were heavy downpours.

Meanwhile, Hj Lamit bin Rakit, who also faced a similar fate, urged the authorities to clean the clogged drains. The situation has been a 'nightmare' causing sleepless nights for the victims.
