Bandar Seri Begawan - A local company was yesterday imposed a B$3,000 fine or to have its representing director serve three months' jail in default of payment, after pleading guilty to carrying out business without a licence.

Manria Sdn Bhd carried out a metal welding workshop, a tyre shop and a car workshop business all without licences as required under the Miscellaneous Licences Act.

The offences came to light after Municipal Officers raided the business premises in Jalan Subok on April 28, 2010.

Three warnings had been issued. However, the businesses continued, following which the Municipal authority pursued the case in court.
