Bandar Seri Begawan - Bag Networks announced that the e-Ja-wi mobile app is now available for download for iOS users. The app was previously only available for Android mobile platform since its launch in August 2012.

The e-Ja-wi mobile app is now downloadable for Apple products such as iPhone 5, iPhone 3GS, iPhone4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch (3rd generation), iPod Touch (4th generation), iPod Touch (5th generation) and iPad with iOS 5.1 or later.

e-Ja-wi is designed to be user-friendly for a better learning experience across various operating systems.

Chief Executive Officer of BAG Networks, Haslina Hj Mohd Taib, said that the mobile app benefits everyone and that the initial aim of the developers was to encourage Bruneians to adopt the new learning experience. She said users should "use and embrace the technology" and highlighted that technology is an essential tool for daily living.

Developed in Brunei by BAG Networks developers and initiated by e-Bunda as part of its objective in nurturing the growth and development through e-learning, the mobile application is also intended to promote Jawi reading by utilising smartphones and tablets.

The public was given an opportunity to experience the mobile app during TechXpo 2012 through matching Jawi characters with its pronunciation.

Approximately 500 participants signed up for the competition and since then, 2,000 downloads were made.

The mobile app also received support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and local developers during its introduction in the Google Development Group (GDG) DevFest Brunei 2012 last November.

Schoolboy Ak Muhd Hafiz Izzudin bin Pg Junaidi emerged as the winner of the e-Ja-wi mobile app competition after beating five other finalists in a quiz showdown and walked away with a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0, in a prize presentation ceremony at the Coliseum of BAG Networks Headquarters yesterday.

The five other prize recipients were Hjh Norafifah bte Hj Othman, Rosinah bte Hj Mawang, Hjh Nuha Liana bte Hj Yunus, Nor Ammierah Anak Jaman and Norjanah binti Jafaradin. They had earlier progressed to the finals after obtaining top scores at the Tech Xpo 2012 held recently.

Each of the top scorers also brought home two Orchid Garden Hotel dinner vouchers and a BAG Green Trolley. The grand prize was sponsored by Dee Jay Home Video Sdn Bhd. The CEO of BAG Networks presented the prizes.

BAG Networks congratulated all the top scorers and thanked the public and various organisations for their support of the app.
