Bandar Seri Begawan - Dayang Hasliza binti Abdullah, who lives with her six small children in a dilapidated hut in Kampong Sungai Teraban, Belait District, recently received generous donations in the form of electrical appliances that included a washing machine, a vertical stand fan and a freezer from donors via Canang Citra Event Management Services.

A group of volunteers from the company made a visit to Dyg Hasliza and her family to present the contributions.

A description of the unfortunate living conditions of Dyg Hasliza and her family was recently published in the Bulletin, and concerned individuals representing a caring community responded with donations. Dyg Hasliza, 36, has two daughters and four sons between the ages of three months and 11 years. Three of the children are currently enrolled at the Sungai Terban Primary School. Dyg Hasliza had spent the last five years residing with her family in a dilapidated hut on a 0.25 hectare piece of land owned by an uncle of her husband, Suntai Hj Sulaiman.

A senior officer at the Kuala Belait branch of the Community Development Department ( JAPEM), Awg Ahmad bin Kasmani presented Dyg Hasliza with the letter of approval regarding monthly welfare assistance through the Village Head of Kg Sg Teraban, Awg Md Mersidi bin Hj Md Shara, which commences with immediate effect this month.

The presentation was witnessed by Belait District Office staff and committee members of the Kg Sungai Teraban Village Consultative Council.
