Bandar Seri Begawan - Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports yesterday led a 2-km walk and an aerobic exercise for fun and healthy activities held in conjunction with Brunei's 29th National Day for residents of the Kg Lambak 'A, Kg Lambak 'B' and the surrounding areas .
Also joining the early morning walkathon was Awg Hj Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Major (Rtd) Hj Mohammad Jair bin Hj Abd Wahab, co-chairman of the organising committee in his speech said, "The high spirit of patriotism can be felt with the involvement, participation and unity of the various Village Consultative Councils, government agencies, youths and individuals.
"The citizens and residents of the nation must be proud while waving the national flag because it is a symbol of patriotism, and they must continue to support towards promoting and strengthening the process of nation building based on Malay Islam Monarchy," he added.
The country's national flag, he stressed, "signifies unity, loyalty and patriotism".
The event was organised by Kg Lambak 'A Village Consultative Council, Kg Lambak 'B' Village Consultative Council, together with the parent and teacher association of Datu Mahawangsa Lambak Primary School.
In addition to the aerobic session and walkathon, there was a number of booths displaying fitness and traditional games among others.
