Bandar Seri Begawan - Two local men were produced before the Magistrate's Court in the capital to face a charge of theft of a vehicle yesterday. They will be further remanded to assist in police investigations.

Sharin bin Abdul Latip, 41 and Ruminor bin Mohd Suhaimi, 38, are alleged to have stolen a BMW 325i from a house in Perpindahan Lambak Kanan some time in August 2012 with three others still at large.

The prosecution informed Acting Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal PD Hj Kefli that the defendants were arrested two days ago as their whereabouts was rather difficult to trace. Sharin is said to be uncooperative during his arrest The police also had difficulties locating the BMW as Sharin and Ruminor had brought the vehicle to another location. Based on the circumstances of the case, the defendants' application for bail was denied.

The court fixed February 13, 2012 for further mention of the case.
