Bandar Seri Begawan - After the prosecution's appeal to have the main witness' testimony in an abortion case to be heard in camera got rejected in the High Court, the trial for performing abortion against a doctor will not proceed in the Magistrate's Court.
The prosecution has entered a nolle prosequi which discontinues proceedings and the defendant discharged following the main witness' reluctance to testify in an open court.
However, this does not stop from future proceedings on the same case.
Sixty-three-year-old Dr Reynolds was facing a charge of causing miscarriage to a pregnant woman and not performed to save the life of the woman, on October 12, at Riverview Medical Clinic.
