Thought of the Day:
"What is the "best" for you? What keeps you from giving those "best" things the time and energy you want to give them? Are too many "good" things getting in the way?"

Bandar Seri Begawan - Teachers and students of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) yesterday got together for a fun-filled day at the Berakas Sports Complex in conjunction with the school's 'Sukan Ria' (sports festival).

They took part in all kinds of events at the stadium's track and field.

The day began with a recitation of Surah al-Fatihah, which was followed by a march-past by the school's four sports houses - Red, Green, Blue and Yellow.

Principal Ustazah Hjh Haryati binti Hj Ahmad in her opening remarks reminded teachers and students to exercise regularly as a sedentary lifestyle is a cause of weight gain, overweight and obesity. Overweight and obesity, in turn, are causes of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancers, she added.

There was plenty of excitement as the events got underway, starting with the 4x100m relay for teachers and students, followed by field events which included the shot put and javelin.

Other special events lined up for the day, included a three-legged race, eggand-spoon race, hidden object race and balloon race.

There was even an eating contest in which participants had to consume a bun as quickly as possible.
