CSPS Holds Workshop On 'Practical Research Methods For Policy-Making'

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) yesterday organised a seven-day workshop on "Practical Research Methods for Policy-Making".

The course introduces the theory, methods and practical research processes that support policy analysis, policy implementation and policy evaluation. A similar workshop was conducted last June and received excellent reviews.

Among the modules covered are an overview of Research Design & Methods, Sampling Design for Policy Studies, Practical Survey Research Techniques for Data Collection, Quantitative Research Methods for Policy Analysis, Using Computer Software for Data Analysis.

Using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for Data Visualisation and Report Writing. Adopting a highly interactive approach, the workshop will not only cover concepts but also contain practical hands-on sessions using statistical and GIS tools.

According to CSPS Researcher and Training Coordinator Dr Sophiana Chua Abdullah, a total of 35 participants from various government agencies, as well as the private sector are taking part in the workshop at Sukma Indera Hall, CSPS Building, which will run until December 4.
