Commander Of RBAF Visits People's Republic Of China

China - Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, called on the Minister of Defence, People's Republic of China, General Liang Guanglie, and Chief of General Staff, People's Liberation Army, General Fang Fenghui as part of his official visit to The People's Republic of China.

Upon arrival at the Bayi Building in Beijing, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan was welcomed by the Chief of General staff, People's Liberation Army, General Fang Fenghui and was presented with a Guard of Honour mounted by personnel of the People's Liberation Army. This was followed by a meeting with General Fang Fenghui and senior officers of the People's Liberation Army.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the level of cooperation between Royal Brunei Armed Forces and People's Liberation Army and reaffirmed their desires to strengthen further the existing cooperation by enhancing high level and specialised exchange, training and intercollegiate exchange. This was then followed by a courtesy call to the Minister of Defence, General Liang Guanglie. During the call, both sides expressed gratification with the warm and friendly relations between Brunei Darussalam and People's Republic of China and were in unison in expressing satisfaction in the steady and sound development of the cooperation between Royal Brunei Armed Forces and People's Liberation Army.

The delegation later visited Brigade 196, 65th Group Army and Air Division 24, People's Liberation Army Air Force in Tianjin where the delegation was briefed on the roles and missions which were followed by a tactical demonstration and static display.

The visit by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan underlined the close ties between People's Republic of China and Brunei Darussalam and aims not only to strengthen the existing warm and friendly relationship but to enhance further the level of defence cooperation between Royal Brunei Armed Forces and The People's Liberation Army.
