Colleagues Remembered At Boys' Wing Reunion

Gadong - The 6th intake of the Boys' Wing met again yesterday at a reunion after leaving the establishment 29 years ago. Taking place at the Rizqun International Hotel, the reunion also saw a Tahlil recitation in remembrance of two of their colleagues and an instructor who had passed away. They were Awg Sallehuddin bin Haji Suhaili, Awg Abdul Rashid bin Haji Abdullah and instructor Awg Metussin bin Landut.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by welcoming remarks from the event's chairperson, Lt Col Tarip bin Zakaria, who recalled a number of memorable events they shared back in the old days. "We surely have transformed from misbehaving teens to esteemed adults," he said.

Later on, they performed a mass recital of Tahlil and Surah Yaasiin led by Cpt (Rtd) Hj Muhammad bin Hj Daud dedicated to their colleagues and instructor who had passed away. They also performed mass Asar prayer together.

Among those present were Col Pg Dato Paduka Aminan bin. Pg Haji Mahmud, who now serves as the Directorate of Strategic Planning at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; Col (Rtd) Pg Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pg Haji Chuchu, and Major (Rtd) Haji Joharie bin Haji Abdul Razak, the Penghulu of Mukim Serasa.

Former instructors for the 6th intake of the Boys' Wing were also present at the event yesterday.

Col Pg Dato Paduka Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud as Patron of the Reunion Committee also presented tokens of appreciation to the former instructors.
