Cigarettes Seized In Mumong Raid

Kuala Belait - Thirteen cartons of various brands of cigarettes believed to be illegally for sale were confiscated yesterday morning in an operation conducted by the Belait District Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The illegal items were found at a house owned by a 75-year-old man in Mumong in the Belait District.

The Belait CID received a tip-off from the public who suspected the illegal sale of cigarettes. Thirteen CID personnel and five officers from the Customs Preventive Section of KB were involved in the joint operation.

During the operations, the items were found in the bed room and living room area, where all items were seized and the suspect was brought in by the officials for further investigation.

The police would like to thank the public for providing the tip-off and urged them to give their continued cooperation.
