Bandar Seri Begawan - Police rangers foiled on Monday night an attempt to smuggle cigarettes, several Astro sets and its related equipment into the country during a routine patrol of a mouse-trail area in Kg Pandam, Lumapas, near the country's border with Limbang.
The two smugglers escaped to the neighbouring state upon realising the presence of police rangers from 'C' Company of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
Fleeing, they left behind 10 cartons of Extreme cigarettes, five sets of antenna wire, six boxes of screws, six pipings, six clips, six Astro stands and six Astro holders.
The case was referred to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further action.
The police welcomes public tip-off on any undesirable criminal matters happening on Brunei soil.
