Certificate Presentation Ceremony For RFFS Project Participants

Kuala Belait - A certificate presentation ceremony for the `Basic Training Programme for Rice Farmer's Field School (RFFS)' project for the Belait District was held yesterday at Multi-Purpose Hall in Mukim Labi.

Chief guest was Hjh Aidah binti Hj Mohd Hanifah, the Acting Director of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, who presented the certificates to the participants.

The event was organised by the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and conducted by Agriculture Development Unit of Belait District.

Also present at the event was a member of the Legislative Council, YB Hj Mohd Shafiee bin Ahmad, Acting Deputy Director of Agriculture and Agrifood, Assistant Directors of Agriculture and Agrifood, officers and staffs from Agriculture and Agrifood Department, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

The objective of the RFFS project was to teach all entrepreneurs in making right decisions and taking actions to overcome problems in planting paddy.

The Agriculture Development Unit of Brunei-Muara district had organised the Rice Farmer's Field School (RFFS) programme starting from January 2011, with more than 70 participants from Brunei-Muara District taking part in the programme.

The Agriculture Development Unit of Belait District started on January 19, 2013, with 10 participants.

The Department of Agriculture and Agrifood has urged all paddy entrepreneurs in all four districts to participate in the programme in order to contribute toward the increase in production of local rice and vision of the nation's food security.
