Bandar Seri Begawan - The Care Team club yesterday conducted a community project to help less fortunate families in need in the Brunei-Muara District by giving out food supplies, clothing, and kitchenware as well as school stationaries for children.
The project first started in May, in conjunction with the National Family Day Celebration 2012.
The members of the club were of former and current trainees at the Youth Development Centre and were led by Awang Haswandi bin Haji Osman, Assistant Head of Youth Development Centre.
The club has been actively organising and participating in activities that involve giving care to the community in need of assistance, as they had previously visited a few locations, namely Tanah jambu, Tanjong Nangka, and several other places.
The main objective of the project was to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate and spread hope and joy. Another objective was to educate and encourage the youths in developing a 'caring nature'.
The project was done in three phases, in which the first phase was to identify the families in need, followed by gathering provisions for donation, and finally, giving out the donations to the less fortunate.
