Bandar Seri Begawan - During the Legislative Council meeting yesterday, YB Awang Haji Jumat bin Akim raised the issue of livestock, whereby the need for livestock meat has increased, especially during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations.

He called for improvements in the agricultural industry, particularly on livestock through the introduction of modern and high-tech methods with experts and facilities to provide assistance to farmers who are interested in venturing into the industry such as in the areas of Pengkalan Batu, Limau Manis and Junjongan.

In answering YB Awang Haji Jumat's suggestion, the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, YB Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar said that the ministry had stressed the use of the Feed Load System by enterprises which brings food to the animals instead of raising cattle in a wide area as the land in Brunei is limited to crop production.
