Kuala Belait - Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) and PetroVietnam Oil (Singapore) inked a deal that renewed a crude oil contract between the two yesterday.
The signing ceremony was one of the highlights of the visit by President Truong Tan Sang of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to BSP Headquarters in Seria as part of his official two-day State Visit to Brunei.
Signing on behalf of BSP was Mr Ken Marnoch, the Managing Director, while Ms Hoang Thi Min Nguyet signed in her capacity as the Managing Director of PetroVietnam Oil (Singapore).
On hand to witness the signing were Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohd Yasmin bin Haji Umar on behalf of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and President Truong Tan Sang for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Upon arrival at the BSP Headquarters, the Vietnamese President was greeted by the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, along with Mr Marnoch and senior officials from the government and BSP.
Accompanying the president as the Minister-in-Attendance was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Education.
Towards the end of the visit, President Truong Tan Sang and the rest of the delegation were hosted to a luncheon at the Atrium along with senior government and management officials.
