Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei will mark Hari Raya Aidiladha on Friday, October 26 as 1st of Zulhijjah 1433H will fall on Wednesday, October 17.

Officials were not able to sight the moon yesterday from all four vantage points in Bukit Shahbandar in Jerudong, Bukit Ambok in Tutong, Padang Tembak Bukit Agok in Tutong and Bukit Lumut in Belait.

In conjunction with the moon sighting for 1st of Zulhijjah, a religious ceremony was held at the Teratai Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs building in Jalan Dewan Majlis while awaiting the result of the moon sighting.

The guest of honour was Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pg Hj Abdul Rahman, the Minister of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony started with a recital of verses from the Quran by Hj Md Fahmi bin Hj Metussin, followed by a selawat and ended with a mass Maghrib prayer.
