Brunei To Host The Royal Trophy

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources has pledged its full support for the momentous first-ever hosting of the Royal Trophy - Europe vs Asia Golf Championship in the Sultanate of Brunei. The ministry joins The Empire Hotel and Country Club, the championship's Host Venue, in this major national undertaking, a press release stated.

The Royal Trophy is a unique, passionate and emotionally charged series of matches played between the continents of Asia and Europe. Featuring a total of four foursomes, four-ball and singles encounters played over three days, the prestigious and highly-competitive team match-play championship will once again showcase eight of Europe's and Asia's best golfers representing their respective continents.

The sixth edition of this magnificent series of matches will be hosted for the first time in the Sultanate of Brunei at the stunning Empire Hotel & Country Club on December 14-16.

"We feel extremely honoured to have been selected to be the host venue for the sixth edition of this very prestigious tournament, it is indeed a dream come true for Brunei, for Brunei golf and for The Empire Hotel and Country Club, its owners and its staff This edition is especially significant, as the 2012 tournament is dedicated to the recognition and memory of its founder, the late legendary Seve Ballesteros.
