Brisbane, Australia - The Brunei Student's Society Brisbane (BSSBne) recently hosted a Hari Raya open house at Siti Athirah's residence located in the suburb of Indropilly.
The occasion was a semi-potluck event where all students were encouraged 10 bring their homemade food to the event. Varieties of games such as a treasure hunt, designing Hari Raya cards competition and guessing classic Hari Raya songs were organised to enliven the celebration. Prizes were given to each of the winners of the games. .
Syed Rozman bin Syed Hj Abd Rahim, the Education attaché officer from the High Commission of Brunei in Canberra was the guest of honour at the event.
In his speech, he congratulated the current BSSBne committee members for their commitment as the event also marked the end of the 2011/2012 BSSBne committee. He encouraged the students to give their full support to BSSBne and also to focus on their studies.
He also took the opportunity to remind the self-funded Brunei students in Australia to report and update their details with the High Commission. He ended his speech wishing the best for the new BSSBne committee and Hari Raya greetings to all Bruneians in Brisbane.
In addition, BSSBne announced the stepping down of the current President, Yusof Sidek and the appointment of Khairul Anam as the new elected president for the next BSSBne term.
