Bandar Seri Begawan - A group of Brunei travel agencies and media personnel have been invited to participate in the International Tourism Mart 2013, to be held in Guwahati, India from January 18-20.
According to Director Mamta Kochar, the mart is organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to showcase the tourism potential of India's north eastern region. The mart will bring together the business fraternity and entrepreneurs behind the tourism products and services of the nine north eastern states of India.
He said that the gathering is designed to facilitate meetings involving buyers, sellers, media, government agencies and others. Buyers from the Asean nations, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the other regions of India, will participate in the mart in addition to the international and domestic Travel Media.
"This will facilitate a one to one interaction between buyers and sellers, and will enable tourism product suppliers to reach out to international and domestic buyers. Apart from seminars and business to business meets, the post-Mart FAM Tours and cultural evenings will give the participants a first-hand experience of the destination.
The mart will end in the evening of January 20, which will then be followed by a technical visit to Pobitora wildlife sanctuary on January 21. There is also a two-to-seven-day Post Mart Familiarisation tour being planned for the participants.
