Brunei Delegation Departs For Indonesia

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has sent a delegation to participate in the Indonesian Youth Gymboree (IYG) at the Jabbal Nur Hill, Palu in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The Brunei delegation had been invited by the host country Indonesia through the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports along with other regional member countries such as Malaysia and Timor-Leste.

The programme serves as a platform for the gathering of youths and building new friendships over a weeklong experience in camping. More than 1,200 youths are expected to take part in the event, including youths from 33 provinces in Indonesia.

The purpose of the implementation of IYG is to improve the insight and creativity of nationalism, understanding the diversity of arts and culture, fostering sense of unity and national unity as well as improving skills and training of youth creativity toward young people independency.

Among the purposes are to improve the capacity and quality of youth resources and to raise the awareness and sense of patriotism through reforestation and environmental awareness activities.

The Brunei delegation is being led by Gaung bin Jamit.
