Kent, United Kingdom - Some 41 Bruneian students currently studying at University of Kent (BruKent) held their first Khatam Al-Quran ceremony recently at the Darwin Lecture Theatre 3, Darwin College, University of Kent.
The guest of honour was Cikgu Ali Hamdani bin Haji Muhammad Diah, the Director of Studies of the Student Unit at the Ministry of Education as well as officials from the Student Unit.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by BruKent Religious Officer, Ak Muhammad Hafizuddin bin Pg Hamir, followed by opening remarks by BruKent President Haji Mohammad Alimin bin Haji Matyassin.
According to the BruKent President, the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony commenced with the recital of Takhtim by all participants.
At the end of the recital, the guest of honour presented participants with certificates.
The ceremony also included Tausyeh presentation; Busyro Lana and Qalbi Yunadi, by the participants.
