Bandar Seri Begawan - After learning about the way of life of Muslims in Brunei, 24-year-old British woman Rachel Victoria Eaton has embraced Islam as her new faith, in a ceremony witnessed at the residence of Haji Mohd Sambas Haji Bagol in Kampong Salambigar.

According to Haji Mohd Sambas, Rachel, now known as Sitty Ariyana Abdullah, first came to Brunei in 2009 after becoming close friends with one of his daughters who studies in the United Kingdom.

The ceremony was conducted by officials from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, and was attended by family and friends of the host and Sitty Ariyana.

Sitty Ariyana has stayed in Brunei from early 2011 onwards, and is now teaching at Bright Jigsaw International School.
