Bandar Seri Begawan - The Britain-Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) hosted a talk on "Capturing Asean High Value Service Opportunities and Investment Case for Brunei Darussalam" by the Regional Editor for Asia, Oxford Business Group (OBG), at the Radisson Hotel in the capital yesterday.
Paulius Kuncinas in his talk described how Brunei, from a regional perspective, could emerge as an important player in a number of service sectors such as law, finance, communications, logistics, research and innovation, as well as health and education.
The guest of honour at the forum was the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka Awg Hj All bin Hj Apong in his capacity as Chairman of the Brunei Economic Development Board.
The British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Rob Fenn in his remarks said, "The Britain-Brunei Business Forum has a stake in Brunei's current prosperity but also an interest in helping the government deliver future prosperity. by selecting the right fields for economic diversification and by raising levels of productivity."
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the BBBF, Lai Pei-Si who is also the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Brunei, said, "To further our economic and diversification agenda, Brunei must tap into our advantage of being within Southeast Asia, one of the fastest and most vibrant areas of growth in the world."
The BBBF is a business association focused on facilitating trade between Britain and Brunei. The BBBF looks towards forging a relationship with Brunei's future business leaders and strengthening ties between both countries for mutual benefit.
