Tutong - The body of a man, believed to be a foreigner, was found floating in the Tutong River two days ago and authorities are in the midst of piecing together the events that led to the man's unfortunate death.

A press release issued by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) stated that the Fire and Rescue Department had informed the Tutong Police Station last Tuesday that a witness had noticed an abandoned boat within the surrounding area of Pulau Apong, Sungai Tutong as he was making his way back from a fishing trip.

The Marine Police along with Fire and Rescue personnel were deployed following the report and the deceased, believed to be in his 20's, was found at approximately 6.35pm on Wednesday, also within the vicinity of Pulau Apong.

A post-mortem is scheduled to take place at RIPAS Hospital where a pathologist will determine the cause of death.

The investigation continues.
