Bandar Seri Begawan - With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office yesterday announced that the tasks and responsibilities of the Sungai Liang Authority (SLA) will be taken over by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) efective today, Dec 19, 2012.

And in ensuring the smooth and effective transition. His Majesty has also consented to appoint member BEDB Board of Director (BoD) to become the interim member of SLA Board of Directors.

They are Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Chairman of Bedb, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Ali bin Hj Apong as Chairman; Permanent Secretary ,the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Mohd Roselan bin Hj Daud; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Dyg Hjh Ning-Lela binti Dato Paduka Hj Mohamad. Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Dyg Hjh Normah Suria Hayati binti PJDSMDSU (Dr) Hj Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Suhaimi bin Hj Gafar; Managing Director of Brunei National Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd, Dato Paduka Hj Matsatejo bin Sokiaw and CEO of BEDB, Vincent Cheong.

With the transition of tasks and responsibilities, all officers and staff of SLA would be under the management and administration of BEDB.
