Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Chess Federation will be organising the BCF Classical Tournament over five days on 4th, 9th, 18th and 25th March and 1st April.
The objective of the event is to provide tournament practice for players for the Brunei Campomanes Memorial Grandmaster Open at Orchid Garden Hotel from April 7-12.
The tournament format will be a 7-round Swiss system. The latest rules and regulations of FIDE will be applied. Prizes will be given to top 6, with special prizes for U12, U16 and above 50. The registration fee is $15 for adults and $10 for students (U18).
The Brunei Chess Federation will also be organising a similar tournament in May to prepare the players for the upcoming National Chess Championship in July in conjunction with His Majesty's birthday celebration as well as to prepare the national squad for the 40th Chess Olympiad to be held in Istanbul in August.
