Bandar Seri Begawan - The Imperial Sports at Citis Square yesterday launched Li-Ning basketball shoes to become the first shop in Brunei and in Southeast Asia to introduce the brand.

The Manager of Imperial Sports, Haji Yadie Riyadi bin Haji Bakri Hamdi, said Li-Ning is a brand name after the famous Olympic Games Gymnastic Gold Medallist in the 1980's era, Mr Li-Ning.

"The basketball shoeswas first introduced in China in 2010, and now we are proud to introduce the brand in Brunei, as basketball is popular among the community," he added.

During the launch, two Filipinos basketball stars from the Philippine Basketball Association, Mark Clemence Telan and Christian Jay Tagle Calaguio, made a special appearance and shared their experience during the question and answer session.

In conjunction with the launch, Imperial Sports is offering a 30 per cent discount promotion on the Li-Ning basketball shoe brand. Any purchase of $50 and above for any sports items gets a $5 KFC voucher. The promotion is valid until the end of this month.
