Bandar Seri Begawan - Emotions ran high at yesterday's B-Mobile b.FIT Challenge elimination round as ten more contestants from the remaining 30 had to leave the competition, leaving only 20 participants to vie for the championship title. It was held at the Health Promotion Centre (HPC) of the Ministry of Health.
The elimination results were delivered by b.FIT Challenge judges Nurul Haniah binti Hj Jaafar from B-Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd; David Gener Vasis VI from Fitness Zone and Dyg Umi Salmah binti Ariffin from HPC.
Speaking to one of the judges, Nurul Haniah of B-Mobile felt really touched on how far the competition has gone, and with only three weeks left in the competition, greater bonds were made between the committee members and the contestants.
Nurul Haniah said, "It is harder to deliver the results this week because we grew closer as a group, we see more progress, more developments and created greater bonds. However, the criteria and objective of the competition must be met."
According to Dyg Umi Salmah of HPC, she said, "We look at the participants' total weight loss, percentage weight loss, character and fitness test results. We merge their characteristics, fitness level and weight loss to get an overall result of the participants. The 10 lowest participants who lost the least amount of weight will be eliminated. The HPC's part is to look at the percentage weight loss.
Meanwhile, looking at how the competition keeps track of the fitness levels of the participants, David Gener said, "Fitness Zone looks at the participants' fitness level, to which they need to show improvements. On our side, we give them fitness tests and we gauge the fitness level of each contestant. A person might be big in size, but the percentage fitness level can be high, and vice versa."
The 10 eliminated contestants were Dk Hjh Norzainah, Siti Nur Ramizah, and Rohayati of group YES, Ak Mohd Saharul, Hj Fathi Fuad, Masrina, and Lelasari of group SMART, and Zalina, Dk Nora Sufiana, and Noramalina Fatimah from group ZOOM.
With only three weeks left, the competition will get harder. There will be an elimination round each week, such as like in Week Four, 10 contestants will leave the programme, leaving the remaining contestants to compete for the championship title.
The b.FIT Challenge will end on December 1 at the Indoor Stadium and the title champion will be announced then.
The b.FIT Challenge programme is one of B-Mobile's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at supporting the vision for a healthier nation.
It is done in collaboration with Fitness Zone and with support from the Health Promotion Centre, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
