Australian Governor-General Arrives For Three-Day State Visit

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce arrived in Brunei Darussalam yesterday for an official three-day State Visit.

The Governor-General of Australia was greeted by the Minister of Communications, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamz,ah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar and his wife.

Mrs Bryce, who is the 29th Governor-General of Australia, is accompanied by her husband, Michael Bryce, along with a delegation comprising the High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Todd Mercer and his wife, the Governer-General's secretary and several other officials.

The Governor-General's itinerary includes an audience with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; a discussion with women's organisations in the Sultanate; visits to well-known Brunei landmarks, and a visit to Kampong Tamoi to see firsthand examples of Bruneian culture and traditions.
