Architects-Professional Engineers And Quantity Surveyors Board Established

Bandar Seri Begawan - To execute the Architect Professional Engineer and Quantity Surveyor 2011 Order, a professional board was set up at the Ministry of Development in September last year with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

According to the Ministry of Development, the Architects, Professional Engineers and Quantity Surveyors Board was established to regulate the requirements and practices of architects, professional engineers and quantity surveyors in the Sultanate, in ensuring the services provided to the public are guaranteed in terms of quality design construction materials, safety and health.

The board is also responsible for registering all architects, professional engineers and quantity surveyors by issuing certificates to carry out practices to all professionals individually and licences to corporate bodies to provide services relating to construction The board is also responsible for appointing an arbitration agency to solve any dispute relating to construction contract between professionals and the public.

His Majesty has appointed a Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development as the chairman, a registrar and 10 members.
