Bandar Seri Begawan - Another local man was added to the Lumapas stabbing case where he was produced before the Magistrate's Court in the capital yesterday alongside two others charged earlier.
Hamzah bin Pehin Orang Kaya Kasuma Dato Paduka Haji Ali, also alleged to be the main defendant in the case, is facing three charges of causing grievous hurt to three men by means of a stabbing or cutting instrument.
Mohammad Syazwan bin Suhaili faces a charge of causing grievous hurt to a man by means of a stabbing or cutting instrument while Md Nazirul Fadhli bin Ariffin is charged similarly and the weapon allegedly used is a metal.
Mohd Firdaus Fadillah, earlier charged with Mohammad Syazwan and Md Nazirul, was discharged by Senior Magistrate Muhammed Faisal PD Hj Kefli not amounting to an acquittal allowing DPP Sharon's application.
The case was remitted to the High Court yesterday before Justice Dato Paduka Steven Chong.
Justice Dato Paduka Chong heard the case and adjourned plea taking to allow defendants to seek legal representation reflecting the seriousness of the case.
Mohammad Syazwan and Md Nazirul were released on a bail of $10,000 or in default two local sureties each with curfew conditions and other restrictions.
Hamzah was denied bail and remanded at Jerudong Prison.
The case is fixed for further mention on February 27, 2013.
