Jerudong - Over 80 students from Universiti of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) including 12 lecturers attended an event to foster ties among members of the Academy of Brunei Studies at the Asma Hotel in Jerudong.

The event was organised by the Academy of Brunei Studies in order to achieve a strong community and harmony among the students.

During the ceremony, a blog exhibition of the Community Union. Core Technology was launched with a theme called 'One Academy of Brunei Studies, One Community' in which 71 students from the Academy of Brunei Studies of UBD were involved in creating the contents of the 19 communities in one blog.

The purpose of the blog launch was to produce creative graduates who are knowledgeable in the tech world as well as showcasing their talents in research and introducing their blog globally.

The Academy of Brunei Studies' T-shirt was also launched at the ceremony.

The guest of honour was the Director of the Academy of Brunei Studies, Associate Professor Ampuan Dr Hj Brahim bin Ampuan Hj Tengah.

"Communications and body language are also important apart from intelligent skills during interviews, and thus students need to take advantage while they are still at the university," the guest of honour said.

The Welfare Officer of the Academy of Brunei Studies, Awangku Mohd Hanif bin Pg Hj Mohd Jaafar said that it is important to develop and foster ties among its members.

The chairman also mentioned that the successful launch of the blog module PB2301 Community and Technology which has brought a new level of learning, serves as a liaison to showcase and share the results of studies made to the world where web users will obtain the quickest and desired information.

A 'Mukum' performance along with a magic show and photography contest entertained the guests at the event. The objective of the event, apart from the launching of the blog, was to build a closer relationship between the Academy of Brunei Studies community and other faculties as well as exposing the students in gaining experience outside the campus.
