Jerudong - As one of the leading international financial institutions in Brunei, HSBC believes in giving back to the community in any way possible. Being one of its annual activities, HSBC hosted a blood donation drive held at the HSBC Business Processing Centre in Jerudong.

"In a recent article, a Leukaemia patient is in urgent need of an A+ blood type. Therefore, regular blood donation drives are essential to ensure that the nation has a safe and sustainable blood supply," said Lim Boon Teck, Manager Corporate Sustainability, HSBC Brunei in a press release.

"On behalf of HSBC, I would like to take this opportunity to also thank our customers as well as members of the public for their generosity. It is heartwarming to see the positive turnout from this donation drive. The community has always impressed me with their selflessness and charitableness," he added.

This was the third blood donation drive that HSBC has organised this year. The initiative is part of the bank's service to the community by supporting the national blood bank that is in need of continuous supply of blood for treatment of serious illness and injury.

A team of medical personnel from the RIPAS Hospital's Blood Collection Unit was present throughout the whole day to assist in facilitating the campaign.
