Bandar Seri Begawan - A 70-year-old local Chinese man's house in Jalan Ban 6 was broken into at about 1am yesterday.

It was reported that the man woke up when he realised someone had entered his house through the back door.

Neighbours claimed that the man was beaten up by the intruder.

Police personnel confirmed that the man was injured during the break-in and was sent to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital to receive treatment.

The case was reported to the Sengkurong Police Station at about 11am yesterday and police are currently investigating the case.
