Bandar Seri Begawan - 56 CUB Scouts were promoted to become Junior Scouts in a recent promotion ceremony, which also coincided with the presentation of link badges.
According to a press statement, it was held at the Scouts headquarters in Gadong.
The Brunei Darussalam Scout Association was established in 1933 and has four core divisions, namely Cub Scout, Junior Scout, Venture Scout and Rover Scout sections.
The Cub Scout members involved were those from Year Six of Kg Mata-Mata, Dato Ahmad, Orang Kaya Besar Imas, Subok, Tungku, Stella and Chung Ching primary schools.
The ceremony headed by Zainuddin Hj Ishak, the Executive Scout Officer of the association who is also a Scout Trainer.
Present as the chief guest to hand over the badges to the Cub Scout members was the Scout Chief Commissioner, Hj Badar bin Hj Ali, as well as the various .Scout Commissioners, District Scout Commissioners, Scout Leaders and Assistant Scout Leaders.
Meanwhile, a meeting was also held between the Scout Chief Commissioner and Scout Leaders from all over Brunei to discuss activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the Scouts in the country, which will be celebrated on January 1, 2013.
