Bandar Seri Begawan - The scouting movement in the nation ushered in another period of active involvement and continuous activity after 56 cub scouts were awarded higher ranks as Junior Scouts during a promotion ceremony and a presentation of link badges at the Scouts Hall of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (BDSA) headquarters in Jln Gadong yesterday.
The BDSA, which was established since 1933, has four constituents, namely Cub Scout Section, Junior Scout Section, Venture Scout Section and Rover Scout Section.
The Cub Scout members, which included Year Six students from Kg Mata-Mata Primary School, Dato Ahmad Primary School, Orang Kaya Besar Imas Subok Primary School, Tungku Primary School, Stella School and Chung Ching School will be leaving the Cub Scouts once they start secondary school in 2013.
-The event, organised by Zainudin Haji Ishak, Scout Trainer, who is also the Executive Senior Officer of BDSA, is one of the top events for the scouts.
The guest of honour was Haji Badar bin Haji Ali, Scout Chief Commissioner.
Also present were scout commissioners, district scout commissioners, scout leaders and assistant scout leaders.
There was also a meeting between Haji Badar and scout leaders from across the country during the morning session to discuss about organising activities for the 80th year of scouting celebration on January 1, 2013.
