5 Foreigners Suspected Of Breaching Regulations

Bandar Seri Begawan - Five foreigners were brought to the _Immigration Law Enforcement Office from the Jerudong Park Food Court. ( JPFC) and a 24-hour minimart in Mukim Sengkurong for further questioning after a surprise inspection operation was conducted by Immigration officers yesterday.

The operation was conducted by a team of 11 personnel from the Immigration Department, led by the Head of the Immigration Law Enforcement Section.

The operation began at 7pm at Jerudong Park Food Court, in which a total of three foreigners, two women and a man, were brought in.

The two female foreigners, believed to be working using a 14-day visitor's pass, were spotted at their respective stalls. The women at first denied working at the stalls but evidence of their employment was found. They were brought in for further questioning, and their passports witheld.

The male foreigner who was also working at one of the stalls was brought in for failing to produce any documents that contained a valid immigration pass.

In another surprise inspection at a 24-hour minimart in Mukim Sengkurong, a foreign woman and a foreign man who were working as shop helpers were brought in on account of the female foreigner using a guaranteed visitor's pass and the misuse of the Immigration pass by the man. The man was later granted a special pass.

The Immigration Law Enforcement Office advised foreign workers in the country to not misuse their Immigration and guaranteed passes.
