Bandar Seri Begawan - The Traffic Police issued 46 fines during a five-hour operation in two separate areas - Jalan Babu Raja and the Jame' 'Mr Hassanil Bolkiah roundabout-link road, on New Year's eve.

Insp Pg Hj Aminul Sarni and Muhd Nadi Nabillah bin Muhd Musa led 46 personnel in the operation, which resulted in the discovery of, among others, a driver who violated the Customs Regulation for possessing contraband items in the form of 12 cans of beer and 43 cartons of cigarettes.

Meanwhile the traffic police urges motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition, to check the lights and to ensure the validity of their car insurance and driver's licence.
