181 Graduate At KUPU SB's 2nd Convocation Ceremony

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to confer degrees, diplomas and certificates to 181 graduands of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of KUPU SB, proceeded to the hall, followed by the entourage led by the Bearer of the Mushaf.

The national anthem was performed by students of KUPU SB, which was then followed by the declaration of the opening of the 2nd Convocation Ceremony by the Ra'es of KUPU SB, Dr Hjh Masnon binti Hj Ibrahim.

Surah al-Fatihah was recited by the State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awg Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

His Majesty then consented to deliver the titah, and then awarded the students with their respective achievements.

Of the 181 students, eight were given a Master of Religious Teaching (Fiqh), three received Master of Religious Teaching (Supervision), 31 received their Bachelor of Religious Teaching (Usuluddin), 33 were given their Bachelor of Religious Teaching (Syariah), 44 received Postgraduate Diploma of Religious Teaching, 24 received Higher Diploma in Religious Teaching (Usuluddin), while 37 received their Higher Diploma in Religious Teaching (Syariah) and one graduate received Diploma of Religious Teaching (Usuluddin). headline-2c

A thanksgiving prayer was recited by the State Mufti. The Ra'es of KUPU SB then proceeded to declare the closing and completion of the 2nd Convocation ceremony.

His Majesty then consented to launch the Islamic Educational Multimedia Innovation Award and to officiate the opening of the KUPU SB's Creating Multimedia Compact Discs for Islamic Education (CDMPI) competition exhibition.

The monarch also launched the latest issue of 18 books by the Publishing Centre of KUPU SB, prior to leaving the International Convention Centre.
