Bandar Seri Begawan - Ten foreign nationals including three women were brought in for further investigations following an operation conducted by the Department of Immigration and National Registration yesterday. Officers conducted checks at rented houses and rooms in Mukim Berakas and Mukim Mentiri.
The operation was carried out by sixteen officers from the Law Enforcement Section, including the Chief Immigration Officer, following information provided from members of the public.
The operation's first target area found seven foreign women who failed to provide valid documents. Two of the women and a man were found trying to hide behind a closet.
At the second target area, three foreign nationals were apprehended, one of whom was found hiding in the ceiling. In another rented room, one of them was also found to aid a female Immigration offender.
The Department of Immigration and National Registration through the Enforcement Section expressed gratitude to members of the public for providing the information.
