Walkway In Tutong Causes Drainage Malfunction

I would like to ask the concerned authority in Tutong, particularly PWD, where is the drainage in Kg Sengkarai and Kg Petani?

Continuous heavy rain (less than 45 minutes) in the past three days (consecutive) have caused flooding in Tutong town, as a result ours and many other homes, shops and property got soaked, and we were tired of cleaning/washing three days in a row.

Most of the drainage in that area is covered with the "added" pedestrian walkway (you can hardly see the open drainage), therefore the huge amount of water cannot flow easily and smoothly through the small inlets.

Thirty minutes after the rain stops all the water will be gone which means it was not due to the high tide problem, but the building of the pedestrian walkway made the drainage to malfunction.

Kudos to the concerned authority in Seria town where they have built a new and excellent drainage system along the Police Station and Post Office.

We sincerely hope that the concerned authority in Tutong can look into this old and long standing problem and fix it as soon as possible. We have been waiting for two years after His Majesty's titah regarding the flood problem in Tutong and it remains the same.
