Thought of the Day:
"For many of us, there's a gap between the compass and the clock-between what's deeply important to us and the way we spend our time."

Waiting For Update On FTTH From TelBru

  • PDF

There has not been much news lately regarding the progress of FTTH (Fibre-To-The-Home). The last update according to TelBru's FTTH webpage is that FTTH is currently being deployed in selected Madang region as of June 2012. It is already December and I wonder what progress has TelBru made so far and what are the roadmaps and timeline.

FTTH enables us to enjoy various value-added services such as triple play service, IPTV and VOIP. Through this cutting edge service, we are all anticipating low latency, symmetrical 100Mbps download and uploads as the current

ADSL technology (approx 1-5Mbps) is simply not sufficient for HD video streaming and video conferencing.

How many times have we been in a situation where we are simply staring at the screen waiting for one YouTube video to completely buffer or have been kicked out of a regional/international server due to high latency?

Can the relevant authorities enlighten us regarding the FTTH status as I am sure a vast majority of people would also like to hear from TelBru.
