This is my second letter in the 'Opinion' section of the Borneo Bulletin regarding the heavy machine workshops disturbing the peace of residents.
I was hoping for some relief after I wrote in, thought the irresponsible contractors would mobilise their heavy machinery and scrap metal away from our peaceful kampung but to my surprise my expectations fell low as I now see more heavy machinery brought in.
I brought this issue to JKR's attention but so far no action has been taken against it. I suppose the relevant authority had read them, and now I really have no idea where else to turn to and hope the highest level of authorities read this and visit the area as seeing is believing.
I remember highlighting the following that really concern us living close to this so called workshop and the area has become an eyesore, dirty and polluted as the waste is dumped by the river.
If this workshop is approved by the authorities there is nothing I can say.
Our roads have been damaged and there is noise pollution starting from wee hours of the morning.
The noise from the heavy machinery is too loud to bear and will surely affect our health in the long run - specially in the case our kids who are growing up in this polluted environment.
Another point of concern is the squatter-like houses that have come up.
Are they approved by the relevant authority JKR or Labour Department?
We pray and hope one day soon this site will be visited by the authorities and our misery will end.
