Give Back Our Land Or Compensate For Our Losses And The Stress

  • PDF

My siblings and I are owners of a land (Lot 62980) in Jalan Mulaut. It is our one and only land inherited from our late father.

It was being developed and while the houses were near completion, the Town & Country Planning issued a letter to "terminate" the building approvals in January 2012.

I was shocked to learn that our land is involved in the future Sengkurong bypass.

I went to the Town & Country Planning department several times to clarify this matter but none of the officials assisted us in any way nor dealt with it.

Why in the first place did the authority give approval for us to build?

Since it is clearly a mistake on their part, why no compensation has been offered to us?

We are suffering from income losses and no future home to live in.

We deserve to apply for Occupation Permit since the buildings are completed and the Ministry of Development is not ready to acquire.

Shouldn't the government acquire it only when they are ready to, instead of issuing a letter to withdraw approved drawings and not acquiring the property?

This has been ongoing for some 10 months and yet no news, no clarifications from these departments involved. This is causing financial pain and stress to us.

We seek an urgent answer.
