I would like to raise my concerns over the number of illegal carwashes that have been growing in the Sultanate.

What concerns me a lot is that the operations are run openly in the public and the relevant authorities have done nothing to stop or investigate these illegal activities.

A carwash business should be done at an appropriate area with approved drainage system, tile flooring and wall as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Municipal Department.

The illegal operators are renting places at a cheaper price and do not build a proper drainage system and even don't follow the rules and regulations set by the relevant authorities.

Some even employ foreigners in the carwash business. I wonder what kind of quota they apply to hire them for work?

One errant car wash operator uses a rubbish store as a site for operating his business. It is also set up right in front of restaurants with no barriers that limit the boundaries between the restaurant and the carwash site. I urge the relevant authorities to take action and stop illegal carwash operators.
