Aren't we encouraged to save in regard to electricity usage?
After the new electric meters were installed this year we promised ourselves that we would start saving on electricity usage.
A tiered charging system was put in place and soon after, the lowest denomination of $5 was silently withdrawn without public announcements.
Everyone was kept in the dark and we are all now forced to buy the higher denomination cards and hence get charged more per unit with the tier system.
When enquiries were made, fingers were pointed at DES for not producing a 'powerkad' for $5.
On Nov 3, 2012, I keyed in numbers as per the 'powerkad' instructions;
However, I did not receive any reply token to key into my electricity meter.
I rang the customer service 8859898 to enquire (Nov 4, 2012, 0954hr). In fact, I had to ring a few times and also got cut off automatically after prolonged ringing. Did this service just wake up at 0954hr when they say they start work at 0900hr?
It was only much later that my call was finally attended to.
