With reference to the complaints regarding student allowances highlighted in the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin dated November 21, 2012, entitled "Extra-long delay in students' allowance", we thank the writer for seeking our attention on this matter.

We would like to assure the writer that action had been taken to rectify the matter by the Welfare Unit. The delay is due to an error in the students' account number data in claims list.

However, the allowances for July, August and September 2012 have been reprocessed. Students have been informed regarding this delay and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. For further inquiries regarding student allowances or complaints, the students may contact the undersigned.
